The Greek Goddess of Song returns to Australia as part of her
World Farewell Tour -
NANA MOUSKOURI
One Last Song from Nana with Love
Nana Mouskouri is one of the most successful singers in history, selling more recordings than any other female artist. Nana has collected an astonishing 350 Diamond, Platinum, and Gold recordings from around the world. She is unquestionably a superstar, who simply touches the hearts of her loyal fans, who have been listening to her sing, in six languages, all their lives. Unlike today's popular recording artists who come and go like the seasons, Nana Mouskouri has maintained her superstar status for decades.
Andrew McManus is proud to announce that this legendary performer Nana Mouskouri will tour Australia in September 2005.

To millions of adoring fans, there is a special connection with "the Greek goddess of song". She is one of the most respected pop singers, by other singers as well. From Bob Dylan to Harry Belafonte, Nana's fan club includes some of pop music's most legendary performers. And now after forty years of travelling the world performing to adoring audiences, Nana embarks on her last World farewell tour. For her fans, one more concert, one last song, one last chance to share the experience of a Nana Mouskouri performance. For Nana, it is one last chance to command the stage and connect with her fans. It's a love affair; perhaps that is the reason Nana's career has lasted so long. Her worldwide hits have included "White Rose Of Athens", "Over And Over", "Four And Twenty Hours", "Danny Come Home", "The Three Bells" and many more.
There is another side of Nana Mouskouri, the humanitarian. She is an Ambassador for UNICEF, the only U.N. agency devoted exclusively to children. In this role, she follows in the footsteps of the late Audrey Hepburn. Nana has served as an elected Deputy to the European Parliament, representing Greece for five years. Nana used this stage to further women and children's rights around the world.
Nana Mouskouri often combines her UNICEF work with her concert tours and recording schedules. She hosted and performed at UNICEF's 50th anniversary celebration at United Nations headquarters in New York City, then immediately left for Vietnam on behalf of the agency. In Vietnam, Nana saw the need for freshwater in village after village. Her simple solution was to personally pay for a water pumping station for each village she visited. In addition to Asia, she has visited South America, the Middle East and Africa on behalf of UNICEF. For her work, Nana was honoured with the UNICEF Child Survival Award in Chicago. Former U.S. President Clinton noted, "Thanks to the commitment, time and generosity of individuals like Nana Mouskouri, UNICEF is able to continue its mission to brighten the lives of children and improve the lives of young people everywhere."
First and foremost, Nana Mouskouri loves to sing; she loves the connection she shares with her audience. Nana and her fans share a common bond that fulfils them both. So why give up touring? Simply Nana says the time has come. Yet there is no sadness in the singer's eyes. She loves performing every night and the audience leaves even more in love with Nana. When the time came for Nana to plan her farewell tour, Australia and New Zealand were places she said she had to play. Before the lights go out and the bags are put away, one last concert, one last song, and one more beautiful memory, for those lucky enough to get tickets.
