This is my story.... It happened on the first months of 2005, then I decided to be a webmaster, since I wasn't studying anymore. That meant that I had more free time to be using the internet, so I found out forums about Folkloric Mexican music, and I started to give my opinions about it. I made a lot of friends there. One day I read a post about Lila Downs (Mexican singer). I always used to read stuff about her, but I had never paid attention, and I decided to give my opinion, but since I didn't have anything to say, I just supported Lili's comment. So then we both met and started to chat by msn - that's how I met Gastón and some other friends. One day Gastón asked me for music. I sent it to him and he wanted me to answer a doubt he had, so he sent me a very strange song with a huapango. He asked me if I knew that huapango. Unfortunately, I had never listened to it. I felt that there were very strange musical styles! (I am talking about the song "Voici le mois de Mai" live at Albert Hall). For my musical tastes it was kinda strange and I liked that very much. Gastón told me things about her - he said "tell me your favorite song of any other artist, and I surely will have the same song sung by her" and I was surprised at this, so I asked him for a song that I just had to have in any version - I mean "Malagueña salerosa".... oh my God! I just listened to it and I felt a very strange sensation in my skin, so I couldn't feel this alone, I had to share this with someone and I just thought about a girl that is now someone very special and important in my life, yes, I mean Lili!!! I had these 2 songs, and I travelled to Venezuela, and I took these 2 wonderful songs. I came back after 1 month. When I returned, Lili already was Nana's super fan, but unfortunately we couldn't talk very much - I had to work and things to do, I had to go back to Venezuela, but in early September I had more time to talk to Lili, and she introduced Renata to me (Renata, the big) I call her that 'cause she has an amazing collection (for me) of Nana songs and that is how both of them give me the light of Nana's unique music. Nana's come to my life since I read her biography. She is a woman that has no limitations.... limitations don't exist for her - I had that thought, but I was afraid to face it, and it's because of her that I feel secure in the things I do. I try not to put limits in my life, and I am starting to believe that it's possible to make the impossible things come true, that's the way she helps me. Thanks everybody for this space, I love you all... ****************************************** hola a todos, ésta es la Paco historia, eran los primeros meses de 2005 cuando decidí convertirme en webmaster porque me habían sacado de la escuela, eso quería decir que estaría mas tiempo en internet, en eso entré a foros de folklor mexicano, y empecé a opinar, ahí hice muchas amistades, en eso leí un post de Lila Downs, siempre leía publicaciones de ella pero nunca había leído detenidamente, y pues decidí opinar pero como no tenía nada que decir, pues recuerdo que apoyé a Lili en su comentario, y pues nos agregamos al messenger, y así conocí a Gastón y a otros ahora amigos más, en eso Gastón me pidió música, se la di y para resolverle una duda, me mandó una canción bien extraña con un huapango, él preguntó si yo conocía ese huapango, desafortunadamente nunca lo había escuchado, sentí que eran estilos musicales fuera de contexto!!! (hablo de la canción "Voici le mois de Mai" en vivo en Albert Hall) era para mis gustos, algo rara y eso me gustó mucho, Gastón me habló muy bien de ella, me dijo que le pida la canción que más me guste de cualquier artista y que seguramente él tendría la versión de esa misma cantada por ella, y me sorprendió mucho, entonces le pedí una canción que necesitaba tenerla en las versiones posibles, le pedí "Malagueña salerosa" oooooooh Dios , apenas la escuché sentí que mi piel se erizaba, entonces no pude quedarme con eso para mí solo y sentí la necesidad de compartirla, y solamente pensé en alguien en una niña que se ha vuelto muuuy especial y muy importante en mi vida, sí es Lili!! y desde ahí me quedé con esas dos canciones, y es que viajé a Venezuela y llevé conmigo esas dos hermosas canciones, regresé mes y medio después, cuando volví Lili ya era superfan de Nana, pero desafortunadamente no pudimos platicar mucho, yo tenía mucho trabajo y muchos pendientes, tendría que regresar a Venezuela, pero a principios de septiembre tuve más tiempo de platicar con Lili y me presentó a la gran Renata (Renata la grande) la llamo así porque tiene una colección impresionante (para mí) de canciones de Nana jeje, y es así como ellas dos me iluminan con su inigualable música, Nana ha entrado en mi vida, desde que leí su historia, ella es una mujer que no tiene límites, los límites no existen para ella, yo tenía esa mentalidad, pero me daba miedo enfrentarme a todo eso, y gracias a ella es que siento seguridad en las cosas que hago, trato de no limitarme en la vida, estoy empezando a creer en la posibilidad de realizar lo imposible, ésa es la forma en que ella me ayuda, gracias a todos!! por este espacio, les quiero mucho............................... |
